BOPARC's Community Art Studio-Studio 287- is located on the basement level of the Wiles Hill Community Center and is a great place to relax and create! BOPARC Manager of Arts & Wellness, Debora Palmer, oversees all aspects of the Studio as well as Gallery 287. The Studio is open to all and no previous experience is necessary. Stop in, relax, create, and socialize in a fun atmosphere! The Studio includes a general art space and clay studio.

OPEN STUDIO- ARTS STUDIO
Access to the ARTS STUDIO is by monthly membership or daily drop in fee. Fee includes instruction, access to the studio during listed open times, as well as use of general materials/tools (full list of included tools/materials provided in studio). Open studio participants can choose from one of the projects listed below or create their own! Please note some projects, like those listed below, will require an additional fee. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Be creative, socialize, and learn a new skill but most of all have fun!

Open studio times are by drop-in ONLY. Pre-registration or monthly memberships are not available. These times are not included as part of pre-registered class fees, they are additional. The user fee is required at time of arrival from all participants. All clay and glaze must be purchased via the studio. Outside clay and glaze is not permitted. Only pieces created in studio will be fired. Outside pieces are not permitted to be fired. Open Studios begins May 14th, 2024 and will continue throughout the year, unless otherwise posted. This is open to the public- no need to be registered for our clay classes to attend this Open Studio option.

CLASS INFO: Students will be required to have taken LEVEL 1 THROWING prior to signing up OR SHOW PROFICIENCY● Price includes first 25lbs of clay and individual tool kit. Additional clay can be purchased if needed. NO CLAY FROM HOME ● Basic Glazes will be provided(2 coats per piece), if student wants to purchase their own glaze it will need to be approved by the instructor prior to use. ●Students will review basic throwing skills(centering, wedging, glazing) while having more freedom to create new shapes/forms ●Students will get 4 hours of open studio time after week 1 per week ● Studio hours will be first come first serve via a sign up sheet to avoid overcrowding (instructor will review open studio options during first class). These open studio times will be for registered students ONLY and are included as part of the class fee. Additional open studio times are available for an additional drop-in fee.
