Summer Sports Camps for Campers of All Skill Levels!
The BOPARC Summer Sports Camp series takes place predominantly at The BOPARC Sports Complex at White Park, unless otherwise noted below. Under the direction of Ernie Galusky, BOPARC Manager of Athletic Leagues and Sports Programming, this series is better than ever!
Sports camps are open to children entering grades 1st-8th in Fall 2024. Camps focus on fundamental skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship. Camps are instructed in a fun and supportive environment. All camps include supervised, afternoon swim sessions at Marilla Pool. Transportation from morning locations to Marilla Park is provided via Monongalia County School buses.
All campers should bring a lunch, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, 1 morning snack, and backpack to camp EVERYDAY! Individual equipment for camps, excluding baseball (CAMPERS SHOULD BRING A GLOVE TO BASEBALL/SOFTBALL CAMP), is not required or necessary but can brought/used at camp. Please note BOPARC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
BOPARC recreation staff will provide oversight of campers during morning instruction and during afternoon swim. Sport specific curriculum and instruction will be developed and provided by local professionals . Instructor bios are listed below each camp description.

Fee: $140 per week, per camper

June 10-14: BASKETBALL- FULL: WAITLIST IN PLACE
INSTRUCTOR: JIMMY NEAL
Drop Off: South Middle School
Coach Neal and staff will help campers develop basic skills including: passing, shooting, dribbling, rebounding, offensive/defensive strategies and techniques. Creative drills and scrimmages will enhance the experience! Campers can participate in Basketball Camp 1 and 2.
JUNE 17-21: BASEBALL
INSTRUCTOR: JEREMY CUMMINGS
Coach Cummings and staff will work to develop your campers baseball knowledge as well as develop basic fundamental skills including: hitting, fielding, base running and respect for the game.
JUNE 24-28: SPORT PERFORMANCE
INSTRUCTOR: RYAN LEIBREICH
This week, campers gain skills and techniques useful in all aspects of sports. Camp will focus on endurance, stamina, coordination, flexibility and balance through age appropriate skills and activities. Campers will also learn about the importance of good nutrition.
JULY 8-12: SOCCER
INSTRUCTOR: Mountaineer United Soccer Club STAFF
A great camp for the beginner or the advanced player! Camp will focus on learning the game and the fundamentals of the sport including dribbling, passing, ball control and shooting. Campers will have plenty of opportunity to advance their skills through drills as well as friendly games on the indoor turf field.
JULY 15-19: BASKETBALL #2
INSTRUCTOR: JIMMY NEAL
Drop Off: Mylan Park Ruby Center
It's such a favorite, we are doing it twice. Different location, same great camp curriculum and staff! Your "baller" will love both of Coach Neal's camps as he/she learn the basics or grow their skils!
JULY 22-26: FOOTBALL
INSTRUCTOR: JARRETT BANKS
Participants will work with Coach Banks and staff to advance their skills as a potential competitive player or the weekend flag football backyard expert! Campers will leave this camp with a better understanding of the game through conditioning, drills, teamwork and of course friendly games of flag football. This camp is non-contact.
JULY 29-AUGUST 2: MULTI SPORT
Monday- Basketball Ball/Neal, Tuesday- Soccer/MUSC, Wednesday- Baseball/Cummings, Thursday-Football/Banks, Friday- Sport Performance/Leibreich

AUGUST 5-9: MARTIAL ARTS
INSTRUCTOR: RENZO GRACIE STAFF
Drop Off: Renzo Gracie (300 Frederick Lane, Morgantown)
The Staff of Renzo Gracie will introduce campers to the Martial Arts including Jiu Jitsu. Campers will learn about and experience the sport of martial arts in a fun, non-competitive environment.
