July 16th- Marilla Park, Meeting Location: Marilla Recreation Center Parking Lot
July 23rd- Krepps Park Meeting Location: Pool Parking Lot
July 30th- Whitemoore Park, Meeting Location: Whitemoore Park Basketball Courts *Added due to rain on July 9th*

Join Us for an Outdoor Adventure!
Young adventurers, get ready to explore! The Trailblazer Kids Program offers a fun and educational way for children to discover the wonders of nature right here in Morgantown. Guided by experienced trail guide Zach Cattaneo, participants will enjoy nature walks through White Park while learning valuable outdoor skills and fascinating environmental facts.
What to Expect:
Guided Trail Walks:
Explore the Lakeshore Trail, Woodland Trail, and Blue Diamond Loop
Wildlife & Nature Talks:
Learn about local wildlife, including fish, turtles, and birds found in White Park.
Discover native trees and shrubs like oak, maple, poplar, pawpaw, and rhododendron.
Understand the impact of invasive species, including the winged euonymus.
Outdoor Skills:
Learn hiking safety and best practices.
Gain insights into trail navigation and nature preservation.
What to Bring:
Comfortable walking/hiking shoes.
Water to stay hydrated.
Suggested: Bug repellant and sunscreen.
Program Outline:
Start/End: Rink Parking Lot
Stops Include:
Reservoir/fishing spot for a wildlife talk
Waterfall platform (or visit the waterfall, depending on group comfort/time)
Woodland Trail toward Madison trailhead for vegetation discussion
Grove of winged euonymus to learn about invasive species
Each session features around 30 minutes of walking and 5–10 minutes of instruction and Q&A at each stop, for a full 1-hour experience.
