FLEGAL RESERVOIR
Flegal Reservoir Update: We’re excited to see growing interest in the new Flegal Reservoir! As a reminder, the park is still under construction, so please use caution while visiting.
If you need to report any violations, please contact 911 – city police. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue improving this space for everyone; expected completion is December 2026.
- Parking is currently limited—plan accordingly and avoid blocking access to ways or neighboring properties.
- Please be respectful of residents whose homes and properties border the park.
- Pack it in, pack it out—help keep the area clean by taking all trash with you.
- Hunting is strictly prohibited within reservoir boundaries.
- Fishing is permitted, so feel free to enjoy the water responsibly.
- Park is open from daylight to dark.
- Dogs must be leashed (City Code 505.1-B) and waste clean-up is required.
- Swim at your own risk. No lifeguard on duty!
- Per WV Code and enforced by the WV DNR, vessels must have one properly sized, US Coast Guard-approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD) that is in good condition and readily accessible for each person on board. Children 12 and under must wear their PFD while underway.
Swimmers are encouraged to wear a PFD and to never swim alone.
