FULL TIME:
Full time positions are classified as exempt or non-exempt. All FT positions include a benefit package including health care, vision, dental, life insurance, PERS retirement and paid time off. Salary varies by position, please review individual position postings for more information.
REGULAR PART TIME:
Regular part time positions are classified as non-exempt, up to 29.5 hours per week. Hours, rate of pay, and benefits vary by position, please see individual position postings for more information
SEASONAL:
Seasonal positions are designated for a specific season or facility and typically last 7 months of less. Recreation seasonal positions are classified as exempt in the state of WV and are permitted to work 40hours plus. Seasonal positions do not include benefits. Hours and rate of pay vary by position, please see individual position postings for more information.
Field Crew
BOPARC field coordinators and crew work across the city park system preparing/grooming BOPARC athletic fields for league play, tournaments, and other private rentals. Machinery includes but not limited to lawnmowers, ATV’s and ventracs will be used when preparing fields. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age and are required to go through training if hired. Rate of pay dependent upon experience and certifications- Crew-$11.50-$12.50, Coordinators- $15-$16. Applications accepted until positions are filled.
SOFTBALL UMPIRES
BOPARC is currently recruiting softball umpires for our Adult Softball Leagues. Adult Softball Umpires will officiate and maintain control of league play by utilizing rules knowledge, proper mechanics, and consistent judgment. Umpires will also work with other personnel to maintain a safe environment for participants and will perform other miscellaneous duties. Applicants must attend a certification clinic (dates to be announced). Applications accepted until all positions filled. Rate of Pay- Up to $45per game depending on experience
Maintenance and Grounds
Hours and start/end date depend on availability. Positions begin as early as March 1st and MAY continue through end of September. College aged students encouraged to apply with a minimum age of 16 required. Weekday, evening, and weekends hours may be required. Regular attendance is mandatory. Work is performed primarily outdoors in varied weather conditions. Essential position responsibilities include but are not limited to operation of mowing equipment, weed eaters, and light trucks to maintain the various park locations; custodial duties to include picking up trash, cleaning restrooms, sweeping, and mopping; event assistance including event setup and take down. Applications accepted until positions are filled. Rate of pay $10.50-$15 per hour, dependent upon experience and certifications.
Pool Attendants – Krepps & Marilla Pool
BOPARC is hiring Seasonal Pool Attendants for both Krepps and Marilla Pool! Seasonal Pool Attendants will be responsible for providing customer service to pool patrons at the check-in desk, concession stand, and through on-deck services, including monitoring slide activities, aquatic play areas, and splash pads. Pool attendants will also be responsible for assisting with opening/closing duties, including cleaning. Pool attendants will be expected to complete BOPARC-provided training and certifications prior to their first day of work. These include Aquatic Attraction Attendant certification, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, Food Handler certification, and BOPARC seasonal employee training. Applicants should be at least 15 years of age (15-year-olds must provide a completed work permit if hired). Apply today! Help your community and earn some cash this summer!
