2018 BOPARC Summer Arts Day Camp Series
A unique opportunity for children entering grades 3-6 in Fall 2018 to learn, explore, and create with the instruction of some of the best artists and art educators in Morgantown. Each camp will be limited to 16 students, allowing the class to tackle techniques and projects not possible in a traditional school setting. Half day and full day camp options are available. For those families wanting a full day option, campers will be transported via BOPARC Van to Marilla Pool for afternoon swimming. Morning Instruction will take place at the Wiles Hill Community Building Arts Studio.
Fee per week: $160 (Half Day) $200 (Full Day)
Drop off Location: Wiles Hill Community Building
Time: 8am-Noon (Half Day) 8am-5:30pm ( Full Day)
June 11-15- Printmaking
Instructors: Irma Barrazone, UHS Art Teacher, BFA, MA, MFA
Explore a wide range of print techniques with special emphasis on silkscreen and relief. Hand cut, ink, and print to create original art works
Instructor: Jason Brooks, Westwood Middle School Arte Teacher, BFA, MACreate three dimensional works in a variety of materials with a special emphasis on art for the outdoor landscape.
June 25-29 - Painting & Drawing
Instructors: Sonda Cheesebrough, North Elementary Art Teacher, BFA, MA and Mike Green, Retired Art Teacher, BS, MATravel through the world of drawing, the foundation of all art disciplines, and then use your new skills to develop finished works in paint.
July 9-13- Mixed Media
Mallory Rodich. West Preston Art Teacher, BA
It’s a summer selfie workshop! Make a variety of self- portraits out of various art materials in various art styles.
July 16-20 -Sculpture
Instructor: James Pfaff, Morgantown High School Art Teacher, BFA, MATake a closer look at the art of Pablo Picasso and create three dimensional cubist sculptures using various materials including wire, wood, and paint.
July 30-August 3rd- Mixed Media
Instructor: Sonda CheesebroughExplore the human figure and practice sketching, painting, and sculpting people in a variety of mediums.
